The human fishbowl

Premiered 2025 in Linz, Austria as part of my composition exam.

The Human Fish Bowl is a three-movement work for piano, video, and electronics that explores the experience of observing and being observed.
Through the image of a fish inside a bowl, the work reflects on the constant exchange between watching others and being watched, but also on the moments when we become invisible to one another - when we ignore and are ignored. The three movements move through ideas of routine, repetition, and the passage of time, evoking the quiet experience of watching the world go by from within a confined space.
Piano, video, and electronics interact to create a shifting perspective between the observer and the observed, transforming the everyday into something simultaneously intimate, repetitive, and strangely detached.
